Passport Magazine

247 West 35th Street, 12th Floor

New York, NY 10001

Dear Joseph Pedro,

While Passport Magazine’s European traveler section has covered many of Europe’s biggest destinations, it’s still missing Amsterdam, Venice of the north and home to one of Europe’s largest Gay Pride Parades.

I propose an alternative spin on an experience at pride week Amsterdam, Not all who wander are lost…then there’s cruisers. The piece is a retelling of a personal narrative of a young gay couple and the obstacles that needed to be overcome in order to survive one of Europe’s largest and most spirited parades.

Amsterdam is a very LGBT friendly destination and surely a stop Passenger Magazine readership cannot miss. Having visited the city 3 times previously and with contacts in the area, I can coordinate other “Best of” lists in the future - to develop a travel itinerary for readers.

I’ve written pieces geared towards Arrive Magazine, Passport and the Washington Post and am published in the Hopkins Undergraduate Research Journal. I served as the Cohasset High School Executive Editor for one year. I also have example writing LGTB friendly stories for Baltimore Magazine. For sample pieces visit my travel blog. I Look forward to hearing from you soon.

Sincerely,

Morgan McCarthy
